Faculty & friends played students last week (Jan 27, 2017) in the traditional annual match-up. Most alumni will remember the game being played across Ball Street in “the cage.” Of course, the game is now played in the climate-controlled Robert L. and Ann Moody Activity center! We love seeing graduates return to play in the game….even when we can barely recognize them. This year a good group of our graduates happened to be children of our faculty. In the image here, Jackson Gaido, Austin Schwab, Cade Harrington, and Kyle Wheeler are shown with their teammate parents!
7 members of the Trinity Episcopal School Class of 2011 were named 2015 Moody Scholars. Congratulations to Kylie Morgan, Hannah Kirby, Matteo Garofalo, Smythe Mullikin, Olivia Sjostrom, Heather Kirby and Gracie Bassett. Go Chargers!
Three Ball High students recently received notice they were Commended students as part of the 2013 National Merit Program. Katherine Dannenmaier, Adam Padnos-Thompson, and Bryce Wiley are this year’s recipients from the school.
These students finished in the top five percent out of 1.5 million students taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

William Patterson (TES C’ 2009) is shown here (at right) just prior to his Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Saturday, April 20, 2013. William now joins William Wheeler and Brandon Leasure (from Left to Right), fellow Trinity graduates, as Eagle Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 104. Go Chargers!
On Sunday, January 27, Rev. Dearman came across Lauren Balentine, Alex Harrington, and Jordan Raschke (all TES C’ 09) discussing fond school memories and looking at a TES 2003 yearbook at Sugar Bean. Jordan came from behind the counter to join in the photo, and Lauren and Alex were supposed to be studying calculus! The girls are in their senior year at Ball High.
The UT Austin Department of English congratulates Emma Panico, an English major senior who has been awarded the College of Liberal Arts Rapoport-King Thesis Scholarships. The scholarships each provide $2,500 in research support for students who are writing a thesis in one of the Departmental Honors Programs. Fellows are chosen on the basis of several factors, including academic record and quality of the thesis proposal. Emma’s thesis title is “A Study of Empathy: The Case of Bedside Manner in Sherlock Holmes.” Emma graduated from Trinity Episcopal School in 2004.
Emma’s brother Stephen (TES C’ 2003) graduates from UT in December with a History/Plan II Honors Degree.
2013 Update: Emma will be starting her medical school studies here at UTMB later this year!
William Wheeler, TES Class of 2009, is our newest Eagle Scout! Congratulations to William and BSA Troop 104! His Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held Saturday, July 21, in Eaton Hall.
