After drop off, they will be assembling their class wreaths for the Leslie Otto Flower Show. Thank you! For those who are new to Trinity this year, here’s a brief history: the flower show is named in memory of a former Trinity student. The child, Leslie Otto, and her mother were walking hand-in-hand in shallow water on the Seawall beach when a sudden strong current swept the young girl out to sea. The flower show has been an annual Trinity event for over three decades. After May Fête is over, we release the flowers into the ocean as a tribute to Leslie.

THIRD GRADE EXPERIMENTS WITH LAVA

Mrs. Rushing's and Mrs. Wisner's third grade classes recently took part in a fun and exciting science experiement! In this lesson, students investigated how differences in lava types explain differences in the shape and eruption patterns among volcanoes. In the activity, Bubble Trouble, students compared two different types of "lava" -- thin and thick. They used this information to figure out why volcanoes have different shapes and how the type of lava explains why some volcanoes explode.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR DAY GRAND!

It was a pleasure to have your families visit us on March 11th! We estimate that we had close to 400 grandparents and special friends on campus and we hope they had a memorable experience at Trinity. We must thank our 2022 Grandparents' Day Chair Jocelyn Sullivan, as well as, Todd Schott with Chopin Mon Ami Catering, Kathy Rea with Majestic Linens & Decor, and our Grandparent Chair Kathy Payne. We appreciate all of the TES Faculty & Staff and parent volunteers that made this special day possible!

The biggest Trinity party of the year is only two weeks away! You don't want to miss all the fun! We will bring Key West to the island on Friday, April 8th. If you would like to purchase tickets or become a sponsor, please CLICK HERE. See you at sunset!

EXPERIENCE LONDON & PARIS!

Calling all current 5th-8th graders and families: Join Mrs. Boeh and Ms. Hyatt in London and Paris next summer! We will discuss all of the details at an informational meeting on March 30th at 6:00 PM. Please join us in Eaton Hall to hear all the details including the itinerary, dates, and cost of this trip. Although Trinity Episcopal School and Church are not affiliated with the EF Tours Travel Agency, and the School and Church are not sponsoring the trip, we are sharing this information from the trip sponsor as a courtesy to our students and staff members who choose to participate.

LOVE YOUR TEACHER LUNCH

Next month, we will host our very last "Love Your Teacher" Lunch of the year on Thursday, April 7th. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 3RD QUARTER HONOR ROLL STUDENTS

GRAND KIDS' FESTIVAL ART AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The Grand is pleased to announce The 26th Annual Reenie DiMare Memorial Banner contest awards! This year, The Grand had 4 districts from Galveston County participate in the annual contest. There were over 2500 entries that went through a two phase selection process. Each year, when the entries are received, 200 of the most outstanding are selected to move on, 50 in each category. A blind judging of the 200 submissions results in the selection of twelve designs, all in keeping with this year’s theme celebrating Jungle Life. First through Third place winners from each of four different grade categories will recreate their designs on banners to be hung from light posts throughout the Festival site.

The Grand Kids Festival, which is FREE to the public, is set for Saturday April 30, 2022, and will be held from 10 am – 5 pm in Galveston’s historic downtown Cultural Arts District on Postoffice Street, between 20th and 23rd Streets. The winning banners will be on display throughout the Festival area.

Winners from Trinity include:

(Grades K-2)

2nd place Mary Lillie Sullivan, Trinity Episcopal School, Galveston

3rd place Ava Shaffner, Trinity Episcopal School, Galveston

(Grades 3-4)

1st place Madison Kuent, Trinity Episcopal School, Galveston
