CONSTITUTION WEEK

The George Washington Chapter of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution kicked off Constitution Week yesterday. This week commemorates the 233rd signing of the Constitution and celebrates the foundation of America, and keeps alive the memory of the brave men and women who secured our nation's independence and made possible the liberties we enjoy today! Thank you to Trinity parishioner and TES volunteer, Cheryl Tucker - DAR Registrar & Constitution Week Chair, for always bringing more patriotism to our school.

SAFEGUARDING GOD'S CHILDREN TRAINING

The next Safeguarding God's Children training class will take place online on Saturday, October 3rd. If you plan to volunteer with Trinity Episcopal School, you must be certified. Certification is valid for 5 years. Please email Rachel Brown (rbrown@tesgalv.org) by Wednesday, September 23rd to begin your certification process or request more information.

TES CUSTOM ENGRAVED PAVERS

Celebrate milestones such as graduations, honors, memorials and special events with an engraved paver. Proceeds from your purchase will be used to fund the maintenance and operations of the Robert L. and Ann Moody Activity Center. Order Form Attached.

ABSENCE POLICY

If a child is absent or late, parents must notify the school. The absence policy for grades K-8 is based on two types of absences, excused and unexcused; however, all absences and tardies are considered unexcused until a doctor’s note is turned in. It is recommended that parents review the entire Absence and Tardy Policy in the student handbook.

SAVE THE DATE

Trinity School Sunday at Trinity Episcopal Church will be observed on Sunday, October 4, at the 10:30 AM in-person service. At this time, masks are required and the Diocese of Texas is currently requiring reservations; if you would like to help us show thanksgiving for our sponsoring parish, you’ll be asked to RSVP via a link that will be sent to school families sometime next week. Godly Play has not yet resumed, but children are welcome to the Service. Families are also invited to watch the live Service on the church’s Facebook page.

MASK LANYARDS

You may have noticed your child's new green TES mask lanyard. These lanyards are made to keep a mask close to the person when they are eating or taking a quick mask break. There is also a safety breakaway feature. You may notice some teachers will be sending them home daily for students to change out their masks, and they may need help with the clips. These lanyards are not required, but they do help keep masks clean and germ-free. While the first lanyard was complimentary, if you would like to purchase an additional lanyard to have or if yours was lost, they are available for $1 each and can be billed to student accounts. You may contact me or your child’s teacher to purchase any additional lanyards. - Stephanie Frye

SUMMER CAMP 2020 UPDATE

Trinity Episcopal School is choosing to cancel Session I of Trinity’s Summer Camp 2020. We have not received permission to open from the Governor, city, or state officials as of today. Opening safely for our campers requires a lot of preparation, new procedures, and training for all our dedicated teachers and staff. The decision to cancel Session I was discussed during several meetings, and not taken lightly. We feel it is in the best interest of the school and our campers to cancel Session I and prayerfully we will open up for Session II on July 6, 2020. An email will be sent out mid-June or sooner to confirm the opening of Summer Session II. If you preregistered for Summer Camp and do not plan for your child to join in July, please email Rachel Brown along with any additional questions or concerns at rbrown@tesgalv.org. Thank you in advance for your patience as we prepare for reopening.

We could not be more proud of our kindergartners. They are rolling with the punches and taking it day by day, all while working and playing hard. Their patience and resilience through this transition have been amazing! This quote by Sean Junkins could not be more true, "So often you find that the students you're trying to inspire are the ones who end up inspiring you." - Mrs. Cragar and Mrs. Buergler

TES TEACHERS & STUDENTS MODEL RESILIENCE

Trinity faculty and students continue to inspire us! Our Distance Learning Photo Album highlights students' great work - CLICK HERE TO VIEW!

This week, we feature

the 3rd-5th Grade Team:

Our third-through-fifth grade team has met the distance learning challenge with a truly united front. They have collaborated to digitize their curriculum and find ways to deliver engaging lessons that not only keep their students' learning on track but also provide them with a sense of normalcy and connection to our TES community. The 3-5 team has constantly provided each other with the guidance and solutions needed to adapt their instruction and best support students and families while apart. Their "It takes a village" approach to planning and decision-making has kept this team of teachers connected through the distance and benefited the students across all three grade levels.
