HEALTH & SAFETY UPDATES

Thank you for doing your part to slow the spread and keep our community safe! Take a moment to review the latest procedural updates to the TES health, safety, and facilities governing document, including current protocols for international travel.

  • As you and your family begin making plans for Spring Break, please keep in mind the CDC has regulations in place regarding quarantine and COVID-19 testing following international travel. CDC requires negative COVID testing 72 hours prior to flying into the US from an international country. Additionally, If you travel to a country listed as a Risk Assessment Level 2 or higher on the CDC website (majority of destinations including Mexico) your children will need to quarantine for 7 days upon your return and must be tested 3-5 days after travel to be able to return to campus. For the list of destinations & CDC travel recommendations, including risk level, click HERE.
  • If an individual (student or adult employee) has a household member or has had close contact with someone who is experiencing possible COVID-19 symptoms (within 48 hours of onset of COVID-19 symptoms), the individual must stay home from school until the symptomatic person receives COVID-19 test results.
  • If an individual (student or adult employee) has possible COVID-19 symptoms and wishes to return to campus before the required 10-day self-isolation period, they must present negative results of a PCR test. Rapid (including rapid Biofire PCR) test results will not clear a child to return to school if they are showing symptoms.

FACULTY SPOTLIGHT

Meet Mrs. Theresa Pistone

Mrs. Pistone was born and raised on the mainland and moved to the island at age 17 to attend Texas A&M University in Galveston. Here, she met her husband of 43 years, Michael, where they raised their children, Mandy and Katie, in the community they love. Mrs. Pistone has 40 years of experience in education. For 30 years, she served in Galveston ISD in various roles. She enjoyed teaching in elementary classrooms (7 years), recruiting and hiring teachers in Human Resources (13 years), and helping to build the instructional technology infrastructure and teacher training in MIS (10 years). Upon retirement, she was recruited to teach at Trinity Episcopal School - her dream job! She was finally able to blend her love for the classroom and technology. During her ten years at Trinity, she is most proud of the progress we have made in building a strong technology infrastructure, bringing technology to teachers for their instructional delivery, and most recently implementing the "Bring Your Own Device" program for students in grades 4-8. She applauds her peers for embracing technology in their classrooms so professionally, and she would like to thank the administration, the school board, and our Trinity parents for their vision and support in making Trinity a true 21st Century school. Thank you, Mrs. Pistone, for all that you do to make Trinity a wonderful place!
