CAT IN THE HAT SPECIAL DRESS DAY

Tuesday, March 2, is National Read Across America Day AND Dr. Seuss's birthday. National Read Across America Day was established by the National Education Association as an initiative to encourage student's excitement for reading. This opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading nationwide occurs each year on Dr. Seuss's birthday.

In honor of National Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss’s birthday on Tuesday, March 2nd, students are encouraged to wear a fun hat or headband and/or crazy hair with their regular uniform.

1st GRADE CELEBRATES 101 DAYS OF SCHOOL!

CHESS SCHOLARS RETURNS!

Coach Johnson will begin the 7-week Chess Scholars program beginning March 3. The program is tailored for both the experienced chess player and the novice, and students of all levels are welcome to participate. Masking, social distancing, and disinfecting policies will be followed. The cost is $15 per class or $90 for the whole program.

Meetings are 3-4 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning March 3rd. and dismissal is at 4 p.m from the MAC. If you have any questions, please email Coach Jeremy Johnson (jjohnson@tesgalv.org). 

 

SPELLING BEE WINNERS

5th Graders Claire Sonstein and Archer McDonald

Congratulations to Claire Sonstein, who represented Trinity in the 63rd annual Rotary Club of Galveston’s Citywide Fifth Grade Spelling Bee! We also salute Archer McDonald, the runner-up in the 5th-grade TES spelling Bee. Way to go, Chargers!

   

TRINITY SPRING SERVICE PROJECT

The National Junior Honor Society is collecting essential items to benefit St. Vincent’s House this spring. The drive will run through the morning of March 11th. NJHS will stock the shelves of St. Vincent’s House of Hope on March 11th with all the donations received! Please see the attached flyer for a list of preferred donation items and email Anna Hyatt with any questions (ahyatt@tesgalv.org).

 

S.P.A.R.Q.

Coach Johnson is leading S.P.A.R.Q. Clinics on Fridays at 3-4 p.m. in the MAC. These clinics will focus on your child’s Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction, and Quickness. All students from 1st-8th may attend. Students will be socially distanced and given workouts that parallel their age/grade. Each student can expect a fun challenge at every clinic. Cost is $10/session with payment made to TES or to be billed by the school. FACULTY SPOTLIGHT

Meet Mrs. Stacy Wisner

Mrs. Wisner is currently a third-grade teacher at Trinity. This is her 19th year of teaching and her 7th year at Trinity. She is a BOI and enjoys living on this beautiful island with her husband, Jimmy, daughter Haylie (16 / TES graduate), son Mason (10) currently in 5th grade at TES, and her three precious fur babies. She graduated from the University of Houston, Main Campus where she majored in Elementary Education and minored in Kinesiology and Dance. She enjoys working out and spending time with her family and friends. Thank you for your devotion to your students, Mrs. Wisner!
