THANK YOU FOR MAKING TES FAMILY DAY PICNIC A SUCCESS!

We want to send out a huge amount of gratitude to every single person who contributed to the overwhelming success of our first Family Day Picnic! Trinity especially wishes to thank Jocelyn Sullivan and all the volunteers who gave their time and resources to make this day happen. Thank you for your loyal support and for coming together safely as a Charger community!

STATIONS OF THE CROSS CHAPEL SERVICE

The traditional Stations of the Cross service will be Thursday, April 1. Although students will not gather together in person for this, we will be hosting a live service through Zoom that will include our Middle School readers reading a passage representing each station along with a pictorial representation. It has always been a wonderful and meaningful service, and parents are invited to join.

To join the service at 8:15 a.m., please CLICK HERE (Meeting ID: 803 362 4582, Passcode: TES)

IOWA TESTING NEXT WEEK

Next week, Kindergarten through eighth-grade students will be taking the Iowa Achievement Test. To be prepared to do their best, students need a good night's rest each night, a nutritious breakfast, and to be at school on time. These small details make a difference! The Iowa Test was not administered last year, so it is critical for students to be present next week so their scores are on record. Please let Mrs. Frye know if you have any questions about this upcoming test.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG AT TRINITY!

Thank you to Mrs. Rachel Brown for the beautiful garden she planted at TES Beginning School campus during Spring Break to welcome back students and brighten everyone's day! Mrs. Brown's project was made possible by the grant she was awarded from the Omicron Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.

FACULTY SPOTLIGHT

Meet Mrs. Kelly Shaffner

Kelly Shaffner became an islander after graduating from Texas State University in 2007, when what was meant to be a summer away turned into a permanent move. She met and married her husband, Aaron, here on the island and they now have two daughters, Ava and Sydney, who are both Trinity Chargers as well. They love spending time as a family outdoors and are currently fully immersed in all things Harry Potter. This school year is Mrs. Shaffner's twelfth year in the classroom, seven of which have been at Trinity Episcopal School. Her teaching path began in Dickinson ISD, where she taught 4th and 5th grade for four years, followed by a year in Galveston ISD before making her way to Trinity in 2014. Over the years, Mrs. Shaffner has taught grades 2-5, and while she enjoyed them all, she recognizes fifth grade as her ideal fit. She says, "I love this age group for so many reasons, it is really a special time in these young people's lives. They are at a crossroads of sorts in that they are on the brink of starting the next chapter of their school lives (Middle School) but are still relishing in the last bit of their Lower School days. Their personalities are so funny and unique at this age and it is so fun to watch them learn and evolve!" Some of her favorite memories shared with her students over the years come from the various field trips, service projects, and hands-on learning experiences she can facilitate here at Trinity. Mrs. Shaffner also notes that among the many things she adores about our school, our special school traditions and close-knit community are most special. Thank you, Mrs. Shaffner, for all that you do for Trinity!
